Flying the Nest Cookery Class for Students

Please contact Kei for group bookings of two or more people or one-to-one to suit your date and time.

Location: Kei’s kitchen in Seer Green, Buckinghamshire

Price:  £80 pp for half day class; £150 pp for all day class (Maximum 6 people)

Includes all ingredients, hands-on and lot of hints and tips, recipes, soft drinks, nibbles and the tasty meal you have made. You will also take away some of the food to impress your family.

For Half Day Class

You will learn:

  • How to make easy teriyaki sauce
  • How to make chicken teriyaki using the teriyaki sauce (pescatarians and vegetarian options available)
  • How to make stir fried vegetables using teriyaki sauce
  • How to make Japanese style fried noodles, yaki soba
  • Cutting techniques and presentation skills
  • What to buy and where to buy it.

For All Day Class

The afternoon will start after you have enjoyed the delicious lunch you made together with Kei with plenty of opportunities to chat with her!

You will learn easy but more sophisticated and entertaining tasty dishes - perhaps to impress your Uni friends .

  • How to cook Japanese rice
  • How to make sushi rice
  • How to make scattered sushi - sushi salad with various toppings.
  • How to make temari zushi - mini hand ball sushi
  • How to make temaki sushi - hand roll sushi
  • How to make vegetables rolled with bacon in teriyaki sauce
  • How to make sesame sauce
  • How to make green beans in sesame sauce
  • Cutting techniques and presentation skills
  • What to buy and where to buy it.
